Welcome to my blog!
Thanks to Derek’s ingenuity, I now have a weblog, which I will update two or three times each week, with news and information from life at MBC. My aim is to write about events that are coming up, and to talk about things that have happened recently – hopefully encouraging greater involvement and interest in different aspects of life in the Church family.
Of course, this is a public forum, so I wont be writing about personal stuff, and I will try not to embarrass anyone (especially Nicky!) – but I hope friends and family will visit from time to time to see what I’m going on about today…
This weekend, Nicky is away at a training event in Glasgow – she flies up from Gatwick today (Friday 6th), and gets home late Sunday evening. The Brigade band are off to Stoke for the national band competition this weekend also – best wishes to them all! On Sunday Morning (8th June), our Parade Service at 11am will be looking at “Making Choices”; and in the evening (at 6.30pm) we will continue our study of the Sermon on the Mount. Hope to see you there. Wednesday’s Prayer Meeting was great – we had a good attendance this month, and there was a real sense of getting close to God. Can I just thank everyone who came to last Sunday’s lunch? It was good to see about 50 people there, with so much lovely food, enjoying a great time of fellowship. We will do it again soon – but the next thing will be the annual Church picnic, on a date to be announced (when the weather improves!) WATCH THIS SPACE! Thats all from me for now – dont forget to come back often to catch up with my ramblings. Stephen.
“I was once told that I must be a great preacher. Almost every Sunday, at the end of the sermon, there is a great awakening!”
